Special Needs
Tildarg Primary pride itself in being able to meet the needs of the pupils through either whole school, class, group or individual approaches. With composite classes the teachers are well equipped to differentiate work and put in place other strategies to help pupils with specific needs. I.E.Ps (Individual Education Plans) are completed for any child that a teacher feels is either underachieving, overachieving, or having difficulty with a certain aspect/s of school life.
The following leaflets are available on the Education Authority website, along with other information on special needs, which you may find useful.
Mrs Dickson is the Special Needs Co-ordinator in Tildarg, ensuring procedures are carried out correctly. Every teacher is trained and fully capable of putting in place many strategies that cater for the needs of all pupils in their care. If a pupil is still having issues in certain areas, after trying whole school/class based strategies, they may be taken in small groups or individually for a set period of time for more individualised interventions/approaches to be carried out.
